With new diploma changes coming in Indiana, our state needs an intentional approach to focus on the success of those students in ninth grade, as that year has proven to be the most consequential indicator of success in a high school career.

Decades of research has shown that supporting students by implementing a 9th Grade Success approach improves graduation rates. In fact, students who are “on-track” (meaning they have no more than one F) at the end of their 9th grade year are up to four times more likely to graduate from high school than their off-track peers.
